About Muddy Drop Kid (Rex)

Rex is one of the (now) most adorable, sweet plain paper bags I've had the pleasure of knowing in the barn. I say this as Rex got his nick name for good reason, he was also at one time the sassiest little 3 year before he was gelded! Rex, as sarcastically as I can put it, had one obviously great try out of the gate as a 2yo, so much so that he took home two hundred and fifty bucks of it. I could tell why it wasn't ever going to be something one would boast in his little resume based on the video in which I sparked my decision to bring him home. Rex in that particular video trotted around with his nose practically letting the grass tickle him while on the lunge line and was just really proportionate and balanced. Not to mention grand sired by one of my favorite Stallions who has jumpers and eventers all over.

Rex is super sweet, is not and hasn't been since snipped, the little twerp he attempted to be. He's made himself into a funny, caring, curious, gentle soul. Like Ko, my little boys 3 and 6, can also stand at his stall guard while Rex just hangs his head as they poke, pet and pull on his ears and hang over his face. My 6 year old has led Rex around the common area, and has turned him out to his paddock several times without my help. I have hauled Rex off property several times. He's been shown in the green hunters, and schooled xrails at our local public arena. He has 3 nice gaits, is forward thinking, and brave. Ties, loads, hauls quietly, stands wonderful for the farrier and vet. He has an unlimited future ahead of him.
